Orcia DOC springs a surprise!

Orcia DOC wines are produced in a beautiful land that lies between the Montalcino and Montepulciano wine areas, the two producing Tuscany’s most prestigious wines.

Somehow less well known in comparison to its prestigious neighbors, Orcia Doc offers truly interesting wines at very good prices. Sangiovese is again a king grape here but the wine makers also experiment with other local grapes and international varietals alike.

My recent visit to the Orcia wine festival confirms my earlier preferences and brings one surprise to the club. Marco Capitoni, Poggio Grande and Podere Albiano are all beautiful wineries with a story to tell. Stay tuned for more details!
